Throughout my life, I have provided service in various roles, including cashier at Kohl's, a co-ed service fraternity member at Texas A&M, a server at Bennigan's, an RN nurse and educator in the operating room, and my ongoing role as a mom. I even see my work as a medical device rep as an opportunity to serve the patient, staff, and surgeon I am working with. I believe that voiceover is a continuation of services that I am proud to provide to my clients through friendly, timely communication and collaboration. I excel at working with teams to meet shared objectives, knowing that voiceover is often the cherry on top of the creative project, not the star of the show.
I enjoy community service and volunteer work for local non-profits, as well as companies where I can use my voice to make a difference. Examples include my work for Learning Ally to provide textbook narration for children with learning disabilities such as dyslexia and weekly newspaper reading for Vocal Point, who provides accessible local news for blind and low vision community members in Georgia. Audio Description is another genre of voiceover that I love. AD brings joy and entertainment to those with blindness and low vision, so that they don't miss a beat in their favorite shows, movies, and videos. Audio description is a growing as a tool for sighted audiences to use as well because it often fills in nuances that might be missed while making the visual cues verbal and allowing viewers to multitask while performing other activities of daily living.
I love listening to perspectives and lived experiences of others around me and in the larger world community. Active listening with empathy and love allows for greater connection and understanding to help combat the prevalence of hatred, fear, and isolation. I enjoy expressing love by crafting handmade cards for close friends and family. I also find joy in nature because it's beauty and complexity restores my awe for life and presence in the current moment. I enjoy digging my fingers into my garden soil and feeling the breeze on my face during a sunset walk by the lake. All of these experiences add to my creative spirit and point of view, to bring a little bit of myself to your words.
I'd be honored to represent your brand with a human touch by communicating effectively and listening closely. With my real-world experience, I believe I can offer a fresh and genuine voice that's relatable, trustworthy, and authentic. Whether you need small business services for in-store announcements and IVR/telephony, or commercial advertisements on the radio, TV, or social media, I'm happy to collaborate! If you are looking for a more narrative style of voiceover, please reach out to me for more information about my corporate, audio tour guide, e-learning, and medical narration services. I also work with independent authors and publishers if you have an audiobook to produce. I'm eager to collaborate with you and bring your project to life!
